Do roaches have their own religion? By being close contact with humans for thousands of years, as witnesses to human history and our behavior, have they absorbed some of our legends and created their version of events that center around their own species?

That depends. Have you ever watched a bee as it assesses you? They hover and observe, not because they are unintelligent, but because they are making an educated guess about you. Can they same me said of cockroaches?

Short Challenges Animation World To Think Small

This 3d view of the Grand Roach clearly displays this bug’s superior intellect and lofty stature.

People, we have a production crew. I am very pleased to announce this and that the initial stages for animation production began this week. We have gained a new animator and are breaking ground on the film now.

Snail Riders

An early motion test made in After Effects for the snail riders.

Roaches don’t have an auto industry but they are ingenious improvisers. There have been many good suggestions that I more fully explore the world of these bugs themselves without humanizing them so thoroughly in regular type human cities. And that is a really good suggestion.

The problem with me not taking it up sooner is because of many, many perfectly valid delays and also lame excuses. There are also some more factions within the Roach culture that I have discovered. Secretive orders and clans that keep the pontificating boob that we know and love, The Grand Roach, in power, are starting to get more fleshed out.

Stay tuned for more tests including some of the main dialogue for the first Roaches short.
